Juliana Fruhling MA-MFT, RCC
I’m a psychotherapist (also known as a Clinical Counsellor) who specializes in treating couples, families and teens – but I love working with all kinds of people – the youngest person I’ve worked with was 2 years old and the oldest was 92! I like playing board games, cycling around the Stanley Park Seawall and eating peanut butter cups. I’m excited to be at RCS this year and can’t wait to meet you! Come by and say hi!
At Richmond Christian Secondary Campus, we desire students to have support as they navigate the stress, anxiety and difficulties that come socially, academically, emotionally and spiritually. As a result, we have partnered with Cedar Springs Counselling, a counselling organization based in Richmond, to offer support when necessary.
Support from Cedar Springs Counselling can be accessed by any student or parent in our secondary and middle campus community for a wide variety of reasons; whether a small situation that may need some guidance or a more complicated scenario, options are available for our community to acquire support and resources. Cedar Spring Counselling maintains strict confidentiality and the RCS is not informed of the discussions or topics covered during any counselling session. Cedar Springs Counselling referrals and counselling sessions are strictly confidential.
With this partnership, students are provided up to three 60 minute sessions with Cedar Springs Counselling for which RCS will cover the financial costs. Cedar Springs Counselling has reserved spots in their schedule for RCS students which enables quicker access to support when needed. If sessions need to continue beyond the original three sessions, then the family will be responsible to cover those costs and arrangements.
Every Friday during the school year students will have an opportunity to meet with Juliana Fruhling between 9am and 11am. Appointments will be determined based on supply and needs once the confidential intake form is filled out.
Students can fill out the confidential intake form below to receive a 20-minute session or request a full 60-minute session based on their current need. RCS desires that students use this counselling resource to help themselves before a situation becomes too overwhelming. Mental Health is an important aspect of our students lives that RCS desires to help maintain; our partnership with Cedar Springs Counselling is an invaluable resource for our students as they navigate school life and strive to serve Christ in all aspects of life.
