Faithful …

We rejoice in knowing that God is faithful.  Never has this been clearer than in 2020 at RCS, where our families and staff have adapted to changing circumstances with character and resiliency. Many of our families have struggled financially and have been supported through our Benevolent and Tuition Assistance programs.  Thank you to all who generously donated in the Spring enabling us to care for those in need within our school.  As 2020 closes, we ask you to partner with us by donating to our annual Year-End Appeal. This year’s appeal will benefit the RCS Legacy Fund and technology needs at all three campuses.

In October, our community lost one of our Grade 6 students, Janelle Mak, to leukemia.  Janelle was a vibrant, happy student who was eager to learn and kind to those around her.  To honour her memory, we are creating a scholarship in Janelle’s name through the RCS Legacy Fund.  Donations to the Legacy Fund enable us to bless our students in unique ways outside the scope of our yearly budget.

Our technology needs during this past year have not kept up with our budgetary limitations. Increasing our technological capacity allows students to develop these necessary 21st century skills.

At our Elementary Campus we introduced the Seesaw platform enabling dialogue between students, teachers and parents.  Seesaw assists teachers in documenting core competencies as students create portfolios. We require 40 new iPads for the Elementary.

Our Middle Campus is working with students in ADST (Applied Design, Skills and Technology) and we want to purchase a 3D printer enabling them to venture beyond the classroom and further their imaginations.

The Secondary Campus desires a robotics program to apply student learning, giving them an opportunity to demonstrate their critical and creative thinking.  Driven by student wonder, robotics will showcase student innovation, perseverance and applied scientific knowledge to explore meaningful ways to impact our community.
