INNOVATION AND TECHNOLOGY CAMPAIGN
INNOVATION AND TECHNOLOGY
Imagine classrooms where students are …
- solving problems through design-thinking and coding,
- accessing artificial intelligence in meaningful and ethical ways to deepen their learning,
- building and programming through robotics,
- creating 3D prototypes or digital media to demonstrate their understanding,
- exploring the parliament buildings in Ottawa, or
- visiting the international space station using immersive technology.
Exciting, right?
Our vision at Richmond Christian School is to provide a responsive educational program that prepares and equips students with modern skills and competencies. The goal of technology use at RCS is not only about access to tools, hardware and software, but students need to learn how to use all types of technology, the ones we know, and the ones not yet developed, in meaningful and productive ways.
Central to our vision are three pillars which will guide our programming path moving forward:
Engage – For students to learn, they must first be drawn in.
Create – For students to learn by doing, as part of a culture of innovation.
Share – For students to find purpose through sharing their learning with the wider community.
The estimated cost to achieve this vision is $370,000. We hope to reach our first milestone of $210,000 by December 31st, which will provide STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) kits for classrooms at the Elementary and Middle campuses, robotics at the Secondary and start the necessary infrastructure upgrades. Future milestones will provide other exciting technology and upgrades including 3D printers, laser cutters, virtual and augmented reality, and ongoing infrastructure upgrades.
First Giving Milestone (December 31, 2023) $210,000
Second Giving Milestone (June 30, 2024) $160,000
Total Giving $370,000
