RCS Middle Campus
Welcome to the Middle Campus!
When you step inside our doors, you will enter our sun-soaked atrium surrounded by classrooms, gathering spaces, and our learning commons. A short walk away, you will find our gym, home to our physical education and athletics programs; our music room, where budding musicians grow in skill and find joy; and our educational support services department. The energized and engaged noise of the adolescent learners who call this unique environment home reverberates throughout our building (and often beyond!).
The Middle Campus is a special place. It is not a more mature version of our Elementary Campus, nor is it a mini–Secondary Campus. Instead, it is a space designed particularly for students in Grades 6-8 who are in a time of rapid development, second only to infancy. They need a safe and engaging environment where they can both belong and become. They crave relevant, active and deep learning as well as opportunities to ask tough questions about their growing faith and purpose.
The educators here have chosen very intentionally to be ‘in the middle’. They love this stage of development and are expert at providing a variety of curricular and extra-curricular opportunities designed to help students discover their place in our community and their God-given passions. They build on the strong foundation of literacy and numeracy built at the Elementary Campus and use it draw students into learning that requires them to dig deeper with God, themselves, creation and their neighbour.
It is wonderful to be ‘in the middle’!
Our vision is to equip our students to discover and develop their abilities and unique God-given gifts, encouraging them to
“love the Lord your God
with all your passion and prayer and muscle and intelligence—and that you love your neighbour as well as you do yourself.”
