SUMMER JOB: Facility and ALR Assistant

Job Description:

The Facility and ALR Assistant position provides support to the school’s facility maintenance management program and attends to the vegetable crops located on the Agriculture Land Reserve of Richmond Christian School during the summer growing season.

Facility maintenance responsibilities include equipment condition review and checks; cleaning of building equipment; moving of furniture; outdoor grounds inspection, upkeep and maintenance; minor repairs and facilities maintenance. The agriculture responsibilities include regular weeding and watering, pest control, harvesting produce, as well as monitoring and tracking harvest yields.

This position provides opportunities to become familiar with and understand building maintenance requirements, as well as basic building structures and equipment. This position provides career-related experience in the areas of occupational health and safety, facility maintenance and building management, agriculture, land and food resources.

Job Description:

The Office Assistant position provides support to the school’s administrative office and business office of Richmond Christian School during the summer break.

The responsibilities of the Office Assistant include front desk day-to-day tasks such as answering phone inquiries, coordinating and receiving deliveries, processing and checking supplies orders, archiving records and email/letter correspondences. The Office Assistant performs basic accounting tasks in processing scholarships and completing payment requisitions. The position also has opportunities to participate in a variety of special projects, such as data management and conversion of paper records into electronic records. Knowledge in Mandarin and/or Cantonese is an asset to help serve the school community.

This position provides opportunities to become familiar with office equipment and protocols in the office environment. This position also provides work-related experience in the areas of business administration, records management, finance and accounting.

Rental Custodians

Richmond Christian School (RCS) is looking for multiple positions for on-call rental custodians to provide custodial services at RCS campuses during evening and weekend rentals.  The ideal candidate will be highly responsible and reliable and have strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring the facility is available and ready for rentals prior to rental start time.
  • Assuring security of school premises during rental sessions
  • Providing rental groups with access to the designated areas during the rental period.
  • Ensuring rental group participants follow the RCS policies, guidelines and safety protocol in facility usage.
  • Ensuring all furniture are returned to original settings after rentals.
  • Checking all windows, entrances and exit doorways are secured after rentals.
  • Completing incident reports as applicable.
  • Reporting promptly any damage to school property, unauthorized persons and other security concerns during rental periods.
  • Other duties as assigned.
