Philosophy
At RCS our libraries strive to fulfill our Philosophy and Purpose by making them an integral part of the educational program and an extension of the classroom. To enrich student understanding of God’s creation, resources are provided to foster an appreciation of literature and learning in different formats and at varying levels.
The Middle Campus library exists to provide a warm, engaging and welcoming environment that offers equitable physical and intellectual access to information and resources. Accessing these resources will help strengthen digital, textual and technological literacies to help students thrive in complex environments and practice essential life skills required in the 21st century. Additionally, this library will instruct students in how to safely, responsibly and ethically select, gather and use information and social tools. Finally, this library exists to create lifelong readers and inspire students to read for pleasure, which can lead to greater success in school and life and help develop new understandings of their world.
Warning- this is not a quiet library! Our library promotes community, collaboration, inquiry and laughter, so you can expect to see lots of activity, games and challenges during our library lunch rotations. Additionally, we have monthly reading promotions, library events and contests!
